The 1619 Project Giveaway

Enter to win a classroom set of the New York Times Magazine "The 1619 Project"

Throughout February, we will be distributing nearly 2,000 magazines at no cost to teachers with drawings scheduled for 15 teachers each weekon Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

As we head into February and Black History Month, AFT's Share My Lesson is partnering with the Pulitzer Center to give away classroom sets of the New York Times Magazine's "The 1619 Project." 2019 marked the 400th anniversary of the arrival of enslaved people to America. Last fall, the New York Times Magazine published an entire issue on the topic with a goal to “reframe the way we think about the enslavement of black people in the U.S., not just as a correction to our national historical narrative, but as a way of better understanding our present,” said Mark Schulte, education director for the Pulitzer Center. Read more from Schulte on this important project.

To participate in this promotion, submit an entry using ViralSweeps. You can submit up to nine entries using ViralSweeps for a better chance at winning. All entries are eligible for each drawing so you do not need to come back every week, but you may only win one time.
