Combating Antisemitism and Hate with Knowledge

This collection of lesson plans, activities and resources for K-12 educators and parents can help address hate, racism and anti-semitism and provide the background knowledge students need. Senseless, violent acts of biogtry happen way too often in the United States, such as the tragic shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

In its annual assessment of antisemitic inicidents in the United States, the ADL conducted a poll with YouGov that shows an uptick in anti-Semitic incidents, with 63% of respondents saying they had experienced or heard anti-Semitic comments, slurs or threats targeting others in 2020, up from 54% a year earlier.

We know that your students will have questions about these incidents, and that you will be looking for resouces to support and discuss recent tragedies. This collection has resources on the rise of anti-semitism and addressing racism, with additional collections on helping children cope with traumatic events, gun violence, mental health and why remembering and teaching about the Holocaust -- and recognized days like International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism - is imperative.
