Constitution Day

Each year the United States celebrates Constitution Week, which commemorates the adoption of the US Constitution. Created in 1956, the purpose of the week-long celebration is to promote civics education and the study of the Constitution. This year the event will take place between September 16 and 22, 2016, and marks the 228th anniversary of the ratification of the Constitution.

The Share My Lesson team has selected a variety of free lesson plans, educational resources and classroom materials to support teachers as they celebrate Constitution Week in their classes.

Share My Lesson is a proud partner of the Civics Renewal Network, an alliance of 29 nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations committed to increasing the quality of civics education in our nation’s schools and improving accessibility to high-quality, no-cost learning materials through a one-stop website.
