About This Collection

Teaching Holocaust Remembrance

Each year on January 27 the world observes International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and its counterpart, Yom Hashoah, takes place every spring. However, teaching about the Holocaust and equipping students with the tools to debunk disinformation around its history are important subjects year-round.

Teaching about human suffering and horrific tragedies can be difficult, but the need for educators to fill troubling knowledge gaps is clear. Share My Lesson has collaborated with partners like the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, ADL and more to bring you this collection of free Holocaust lesson plans and educational resources that provides the tools you need to raise awareness around “The Shoah” and analyze its impact on the world today. Review sample resources below, including Guidelines for Teaching About the Holocaust, then begin your lesson planning here.
