Teaching Tolerance

Founded in 1991 by the Southern Poverty Law Center, Teaching Tolerance is dedicated to helping teachers and schools educate children and youth to be active participants in a diverse democracy. We publish a magazine, Teaching Tolerance, produce documentary films and develop curriculum materials — all free to K-12 educators — that help students learn respect for differences and bolster teacher practice. Our teaching materials have won two Oscars, an Emmy and dozens of honors from the Association of Educational Publishers.
