MIT BLOSSOMS is a free online library of “interactive” video lessons designed to supplement high school science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) classes. With these lessons, a teacher maintains full control of the class while co-teaching with content experts from secondary or higher education in the U.S. and other countries. One of the benefits of BLOSSOMS is its ease in use, with a complete lesson plan – including teaching notes, handouts and additional online resources – readily downloadable from the website. The lessons are tailored to the structured time of a 50-minute class, including segmented time for participatory, inquiry-based learning in the classroom. Above all, a BLOSSOMS lesson is not a lecture, but requires teachers to engage and involve students in their learning. Mapped to educational standards in all 50 states, MITBLOSSOMS is also aligned with the Common Core Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. http://blossoms.mit.edu/
