In high school, students apply trigonometric measurement to many different authentic contexts. Of all the subjects students learn in geometry, trigonometry may have the greatest application in college and careers. Applying abstract geometric concepts involving congruence, similarity, measurement, trigonometry, and other related areas to solving problems situated in real-world contexts provides a means of building understanding about concepts and experiencing the usefulness of geometry.
