The student will write for a variety of purposes and audiences using narrative, descriptive, expository, persuasive, and reflective modes. At Grade 7, write narrative, expository, persuasive, argumentative, reflective, and descriptive modes of at least 500 to 750 words. Introduce biographical and autobiographical narratives and write summaries of grade-level-appropriate reading material. The writing demonstrates a command of Standard English and the research, organization, and drafting strategies outlined in the writing process as well as an awareness of the audience (intended reader) and purpose for writing.
