This poem is so beautiful! I can’t get enough of it. What a great way to make students reflect on the present, past and future.

Sixto, can you explain to us why you think this poem is divisive?

I loved the poem and I shared it with my history classes. I plan on printing out only chunks of the poem so that my students can review some portions of the poem without being overwhelmed with the multiple meanings found in most of the stanzas of the poem.
