About This Lesson
Panic takes place in the small town of Carp during the summer after high school graduation. Each year there is a deadly competition among graduates desperate to win their way out of town. There’s just one rule the young players need to survive: Don’t panic.
Through their own reflective and creative writing, students will gain a better understanding of the writing process through these language arts activities that explore the key components of storytelling; how decision-making leads to character development, not just in fiction but in life; and the role societal pressures play in personal development.
