About This Lesson
Migration has been part and parcel of the human experience, and while it ebbs and flows, it is ubiquitous. As we have seen throughout history, in periods of mass migration, newcomers are often met with skepticism and distrust. Educating young people to learn to live with, work with, and respect our differences is essential for the survival of democracy. This selection includes five essential resources for teaching about migration and creating a culturally responsive classroom for immigrant-origin students.
