Going, Going Gone Pumpkins: Exploring the Life Cycle of a Pumpkin - Project-Based Learning

In this project-based learning lesson, students will learn what qualifies something as a living thing, if each living thing has a life cycle, and about the life cycle of a pumpkin. Students will also compare and contrast two different books about pumpkins and how they grow. This fun, hands-on learning lesson includes cleaning out pumpkin guts along with planting a pumpkin seed inside of another pumpkin and watching it grow!

Technology: Computer, mouse, YouTube, and KidSpiration software

MaterialsPumpkin Circle book, Pumpkin Jack book, The Tiny Seed book, Spookley the Square Pumpkin book and video, scissors, glue, markers, pumpkin, knife, soil.
