About This Lesson
The passing of the James Zadroga Act was a unique bill in American history that provides for the healthcare and compensation to the many thousands of responders who responded to the the 9/11 disaster sites. This lesson asks students to gather evidence from primary documents and assess the reasons for and against the passage of this legislation and its re-authorization in 2015. The questions are made to be broad and debatable overarching questions that students must answer using the primary source material provided. The students write source based arguments based on an essential thematic question.
