Have you ever tried teaching through song?

It's a really effective, and highly engaging method for young learners to find out about the world around us.

Supporting each educational video are 3 worksheets, answers and a lyric sheet.

Here are a list of the topics covered:

  • Animal Classification
  • Seasonal Changes/Four Seasons
  • Five Senses
  • Carnivores, Herbivores & Omnivores
  • Materials and their Properties
  • Types of Clouds
  • Plants and Trees
  • Human Body Parts

+ These activities are superb for ESL learners.

About this generous resource

I have spent the past 2 years composing, playing and recording BrainySongs. The videos of these Science songs, contain stunning images of the world which I hope will inspire our young learners to ask lots of questions.

If you haven't tried songs as a way to learn supported with top quality worksheets, perhaps you'd like to try now?

How to get the best out of this resource

  1. Listen/watch the song video [link below] which contains stunning, helpful images. Key words/phrases are also included in the video itself.
  2. Discuss/ask questions about the video pausing during a second play etc
  3. Use the worksheets [link to complete pack of worksheets, answer sheets and lyric sheets below] in order. Most students should be able to tackle the first sheet with guidance. The second and third sheets may need more teacher input and indeed may be used purely as a stimulus for discussion in class.

Hopefully, by listening to the songs several times, the young learners will grow to like the song and pick up more key vocabulary in the process.

It is hoped that BrainySongs will stimulate a general curiosity in the subject and a love of Science and Music at the same time.

If you enjoy BrainySongs and want to say 'thanks' then the best way would be simply to SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel which will help our community grow.
