Trauma-informed care in education was hard enough when life was 'normal'. Now, when we have experienced societal trauma and major long-term life changes, how do we cope and help our students cope?
In a polarized environment of pandemics, political and social fatigue, and long-term change, we need, more than ever, strategies to tap into as individuals and teams that help us recognize and respond to trauma as individuals, educators and as a society. Recognizing an responding to the societal trauma we have collectively endured and the impacts it has had on us and our students is critical. Learn to recognize and respond personally and professionally to the new world in which we are all living, and relate it to what we know about trauma-informed care.
