About This Webinar

Join NextGen Personal Finance and Share My Lesson for a webinar on financial literacy.

The world of financial services is undergoing dramatic changes. Students are using apps like Venmo to pay their friends or MINT to track their spending. They are using their mobile phones to conduct their banking and investing is increasingly done by "robots." This webinar will provide you with projects based on current events that will provide your students with money skills to succeed in the "real world."

Speakers

Tim Ranzetta's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.

I teach financial literacy, and I also use current events a lot in my social studies classes. This is a great combination of the best of both worlds.
