Please join Emily Janssen, Perri Chinalai for a multimedia workshop hosted by StoryCorps and Share My Lesson. You'll learn about a national oral history nonprofit that preserves and shares stories to create a culture of listening, empathy, and compassion.
This webinar is not available On Demand. Original Air Date: March 26, 2020
During this presentation, we’ll explore lesson plans designed to help middle and high school students strengthen the power of their own voice. StoryCorps will also share free resources associated with their Great Thanksgiving Listen campaign — a national movement that empowers young people to connect with an elder, mentor, friend, or someone they admire and to record an interview with them using the free StoryCorps app during the months of November and December.
Leave this workshop with tools to engage and empower your students in both the classroom and community through conversation. Help your students become active listeners, record intergenerational conversations, and use free technology to record and archive conversations with StoryCorps and the Library of Congress.
Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.
On Demand version is available in closed captioning in English and Spanish.
