Distance Learning & ELLs: What Have We Learned So Far?

About This Webinar

Join Diane Staehr Fenner from SupportEd; teacher and author, Larry Ferlazzo, and Lydia Breiseth with Colorín Colorado for a webinar on the challenges of distance learning during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic are many. Although distance learning has quickly become the default solution for the more than 54 million students displaced by school closures, it is estimated that 25-50 percent of the 5 million English language learners around the country either do not have the appropriate technology devices needed for online learning or access to the internet. Join us to learn more about some best practices we are seeing thus far for both groups of ELLs—those with Internet access and those without.

 #1 COVID-19 Special Populations Webinar

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session.

On Demand version will be available in closed captioning in English and Spanish.

What a great experience! The webinar on Distance Learning for ELL was Applicable, Convenient, Engaging, and Short. The layout was perfect; each presenter was brief and provided useful nuggets of information that were relevant to the current situation and can easily be implemented tomorrow! Thank you AFT!
