Happy summer! We made it!
And we get it. It's been a year. Just when we thought getting through last year was tough for teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff and administrators, this year said: “Hold my beer.”
While we can't fix the challenging year, we can celebrate you! You made it through the school year. You hung in there despite conversations on book bans, critical race theory and arming teachers.
And at Share My Lesson, you made us the vibrant online community it is today. Not only that, we are so close to hitting 2 million members.
So, we're celebrating you and being 2 million members strong this summer—and here's how you can be in the room where it happens.
As part of Share My Lesson’s Summer of Learning 2022, we are thrilled to announce that we are going to choose three winners–and three companions–to fly to New York City this fall to see Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Yes, that's right—we're sending six people to see Hamilton!
Sing with me. ... Alexander Hamilton, his name is Alexander Hamilton. ...Just you wait ...just you wait.
So, don’t throw away your shot at winning round-trip tickets to New York City to see Hamilton on Broadway!
Enter our Hamilton and the Big Apple Educator Sweepstakes and you have a chance to win one of three grand prizes to see Hamilton on Broadway.
What better way to celebrate the kick off of the 2022-23 school year than with tickets to the Big Apple?
And for my fellow Hamilton nerds, I leave you with The Educators, rewritten from the tune of the Schuyler Sisters.
There's nothing non-teachers love more
Than complaining about us while keeping us poor
They look at us in our classrooms writing with our chalk
And they throw criticism at us just so we don’t talk.
Take all the detractors, their complaints are loaded
Uh-oh, but little do they know
That their educators, teachers, support staff, admins
Don’t listen to the TV and instead they’re at—
Teachers!
(Work, work!) support staff!
And admins (work, work!)
The educators!
Teachers! support staff! admins! (Work!)
People said to do more by sundown
People don't even know
People said why are you so rundown?
Like I said, we're free to go
But look around, look around
Share My Lesson is sending you to New York (New York)
Teachers (work!)
It's bad enough people are at war.
Talking heads putting teachers in a square
It's bad enough educators are running far
No one coming up for any air
Look around, look around
Teachers, remind me what we're looking for
We're lookin' for you!
Support staff, I'm lookin' for support at work (work)
I'm lookin' for support at work (work)
I'm lookin' for support at work (work)
Whoa-ooh, whoa-oh-oh
Whoa-ooh, whoa-oh-oh (work!)
Whoo! There's nothin' like people being shifty
Officials in a rush and dictating to us by committee
Excuse me, teachers, I know it's not funny
But your CRT and books will cost you a lot of money
Why you carin' about armed teachers in schools with conceals?
Your teachin' is safe if we take away your ideals.
Man, you disgust me
Ah, so you've discussed me
I'm elected, baby, you can trust me
I've been reading Common Sense by Thomas Paine.
Some people say we're understaffed and underpaid.
You want a revolution? I want a revelation.
So listen to my declaration.
We hold these truths to be self-evident
that all professionals are created equal.
And when I meet the future voters (yes!)
I'm gonna compel them to include educators in the sequel. Work!
Look around, look around
At how lucky we are to survive the school year now.
Look around, look around
All they want to do is arm us now.
History is happening for 2 million
SML is sending you to the greatest city in the world
To the greatest city in the world!
'Cause I've been reading Common Sense by Thomas Paine (look around, look around)

Teacher! Support Staff! Admins! (Work!)
We're looking for support at work! (Work, work!)
Hey! (Work, work!)
Hey! (Work, work! Whoa!)
Hey! (Work, work!)
To the greatest city (work! work!)
To the greatest city in the world
To the greatest city in the world!
