Ask educators what they wish they had more of, and 9 times out of 10, the first thing they will say is “time.”
To help you save time and more deeply engage your students in learning, Discovery Education is making 500 free, ready-to-use activities available to teachers in the K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 grade bands. These activities are being released every month, are organized to support weekly instructional goals, and are created based on the most searched terms during each month of the school year.
Among the activities available now on the Share My Lesson website are:
• A recent virtual field trip to Washington D.C., that includes First Lady and First Educator Dr. Jill Biden
• An engaging video from Conservation Station, a program developed in partnership with Itron to help students explore the relationship between water and energy through the lens of conservation
• A hands-on experiment from the 3M Science at Home series, featuring a 3M scientist explaining “force” with a hands-on experiment.
According to Laura Mitchley, an instructional coach in the Pennsylvania public school system, “In talking with my colleagues, the number one thing they need is more time, and these free resources put engaging, ready-to-use activities right at their fingertips. Now, they can spend more time with their students and less time searching for creative new activities.”
