About This Collection

Mother’s Day Activities, Crafts, and Lessons for PreK–12 Classrooms

Mother's Day, celebrated annually on the second Sunday of May, is a meaningful opportunity for students to recognize and appreciate mothers, caregivers, and important role models in their lives. Officially established in 1914, the holiday continues to be a time for gratitude, reflection, and connection in classrooms and communities.

This curated collection from Share My Lesson features free Mother’s Day lesson plans, classroom activities, and crafts for PreK–12 students. Educators will find a wide range of engaging resources, including Mother’s Day crafts, writing prompts, book guides, and creative projects designed to help students express appreciation and explore themes of family and gratitude.

In addition to celebratory activities, this collection also includes social-emotional learning (SEL) resources to support students who may be experiencing grief or complex emotions around Mother’s Day. You’ll also find materials focused on self-care and well-being for mothers and caregivers, helping schools foster a more inclusive and supportive environment.

Use these Mother’s Day classroom activities and teaching resources to create meaningful, inclusive experiences that honor the diverse families and perspectives in your classroom.
