Mechanism of Breathing Activity

Thanks for this model. It was useful when comparing with Belljar model which enabled students to organize in their minds the concept of breathing.

Clear instructions for making a simple model to help pupils to understand the mechanism of breathing (inhalation). Useful discussions can be generated regarding role of diaphragm (represented by the baloon) and limitations of the model (it does not show expansion of the thorax brought about by expansion of the ribcage using intercostal muscles).
