About This Lesson
A selection of teacher recommended poems including shape; acrostic; alphabet and postard poems on the topic giving ideas to link poetry and emotion to the subject; and to draw out figurative language from the children. I used these in a poetry workshop with year 5 children; so have also included a link to the resulting poems that they were inspired to write. This followed a visit to Murton Park (recommended) which the children were also able to draw upon; and I have also included a link to a good research site.
