About This Lesson

A fantastic song by Tom Williams and Guy Denning from Tom Williams And The Boat that manages to be sad, hopeful, beautiful and funny all at the same time.

The is a song trying to convince people not to fly (bad for the environment I am sure is their point, but It doesn't make a direct connection) and to "stay grounded." Basically, it shows footage of terrifying plane departures and landings that do not go as smooth as planned. Instead of using facts to educate students on other options besides flying, this video tries to scare them into avoiding planes. If any students have relatives who fly commonly then this could seriously worry them by thinking planes are not safe. Using fear to manipulate students into the transportation you agree with is not an honorable teacher quality so I wouldn't suggest this video.
