About This Lesson
This is a learning mat to get the students to understand the electrolysis of sodium chloride for themselves. The students work in pairs to go through the storyboard; writing on post-it notes what they see. They then complete the handout which can be self assessed. I have found that it gives them a better understanding of what happens at the electrodes and helps them to understand half equations much more easily.
Fantastic resource! This will be printed, laminated and used by most of the chemistry staff at our school!
