About This Lesson

The purpose of this unit is to develop an understanding of prison history, identify prison design principles and practices and to discover researched-based evidence of new designs and practices. Students will generate a new prison design, exercise mathematical techniques to construct a blue print and/or a model of their prison, employ oral and written communication skills to compose a letter to public officials, to design and create a local press release, and will script a “town hall” meeting.
