The Philippines Climate Change Commissioner told a high-level debate in Warsaw that Typhoon Haiyan is a grim reminder of the need for urgent measures to adapt to climate change. Members of the UNFCCC's Adaptation Committee - speaking at the first-ever Adaptation Forum - heard that community, respect, trust, traditional knowledge and climate-smart development need to be at the heart and head of adapting to climate change.
