About This Lesson
I wrote this unit as a project designed to teach my 4th grade class about tall tales. Since we live in Oregon, and Crater Lake is one of our most striking physical features, I'm asking students to use that as inspiration. This unit has them researching and defining tall tales. It also asks them to research the scientific explanation for the creation of Crater Lake. Once they have the real explanation, they get to invent their own.
