Discussion Thread
We are currently teaching virtually/remotely.
As a school librarian, I do not have all the work and responsibility of the classroom teachers, especially teaching the students all day in a virtual setting where there can be so many distractions for all of the babies. I think both the classroom teachers are doing an excellent job given the circumstances.

We are using Schoology as our learning management system and will continue to use it once we are back face-to-face. Because I work in two elementary schools. IT administrators are still working out how to give me and all the other school librarians in the district, permissions for both my schools. Schoology is where we are putting all our resources for each of the grades and where classroom teachers are putting all their resources for their classes, including links to their virtual classroom meeting sessions. All communication to students and parents is supposed to go through Schoology, but because not all parents are using it, many staff in the district are still using ClassDojo to communicate.

For the most part, I go into each class's virtual classroom for "library" visits doing read alouds, digital literacy skills, and helping students in grades 2-5 to access e-books from a variety of different resources. I am also working with classroom teachers to help students do research for projects they are working on.
