Executive Summary via ON24 AI:
Career Girls, a nonprofit focused on closing the “imagination gap,” helps K–12 educators expand girls’ career awareness while building the social-emotional skills that drive academic and long-term success. The webinar highlighted research showing girls’ confidence can decline as early as age six and connected this to the underrepresentation of women in STEM, AI, and leadership roles, reinforcing the need for early, relatable role models. Career Girls offers free online resources, including a large video library of diverse women professionals, career exploration pages, quizzes, and educator toolkits. Its flagship Career Girls Club is a flexible, school-run program (typically 20 weeks) for grades 3–12 that pairs role-model videos with discussion guides and hands-on activities to develop skills like confidence, teamwork, resilience, empathy, and decision-making alongside career exploration. Reported outcomes include improved self-belief, stronger engagement, better grades and attendance, and increased interest in STEM, supported by pre- and post-program surveys and educator feedback; participation is free, can include boys, and provides completion certificates, with school credit determined locally.
