Empowering K-12 Students to Become Changemakers

Join Dr. Paul Rogers of Ashoka and Share My Lesson for a webinar that aims to help young people (K-12) understand what it means to be a changemaker and change the world.

Now Available On Demand. Original Air Date: March 25, 2020.

What does it mean to be a changemaker? How can young people discover their power to change the world? In this session, participants will discover ways to identify, create, and share the stories of changemakers in all 50 states, the stories of problems being solved by the people who live them, and the people who imagine a different future and build it for everyone, for the good of all. We’ll explore practical ways to help young people reflect on the skills and attributes needed to be a changemaker through a variety of grade level appropriate activities--including writing (9-12), STEM (Grades 6-8), visual arts (3-5), and interactive read-alouds (K-2) with the goal of helping students develop their own definition of what a changemaker is and to declare that they are changemakers.

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

On Demand version is available in closed captioning in English and Spanish.
