Join North America's Building Trades Unions, AFL-CIO, for a lesson on how modern CTE offers students academic, technical and workforce readiness skills.

Available On Demand

This webinar will provide an overview of how modern CTE offers students academic, technical and workforce readiness skills. Learn about North America’s Building Trades Unions' (NABTU) apprenticeship program opportunities and their comprehensive apprenticeship-readiness training programs, which prepare students to enter and succeed in registered apprenticeship programs in the US construction industry. NABTU’s 14 affiliated Building Trades Unions offer earn and learn apprenticeship opportunities throughout the US, which are gateways to well-paying middle class careers. All Building Trades apprenticeship programs have been assessed for college credit and are free to qualified participants, which has led NABTU to call these programs “the other four year degree.” NABTU’s apprenticeship readiness programs, which are embedded in a growing list of public CTE schools across the US, are built around the Building Trades’ nationally recognized Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3). In 2012, the Department of Labor awarded the Building Trades the Department’s Registered Apprenticeship Innovator and Trailblazer Award for the MC3. Students who complete the program gain credits toward their high school diploma as well as a certificate from NABTU that provides expedited access to apprenticeship program openings. Teachers attending this webinar will learn how to connect with Building Trades registered apprenticeship programs in their area, and how to obtain access to the MC3 in their CTE programs, where available.

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session.
