I have taught since 1990 after completing my Diploma of Secondary Teaching at Rusden Campus in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1989. My teaching methods were TESOL, English Literature and English. Before that, in the 1980's I was a 'professional' student putting my self through an Arts Degree at Monash University, Victoria. I studied French, Biology, Philosophy, Comparative Literature, History and English Units to complete my BA with majors in English Literature and History. I was also studying some not for degree units in Hebrew Language Studies and Elements of Halacha at Toorak Campus which was a part of Victoria College, now Deakin University.
During my studies, I supported myself by working as a waitress, taxi driver, TAFE clerk, survey assistant for the Metro Transit Authority and various other odd jobs so I have had extensive experiences in a variety of work sites. Before that, I worked as a house matron at a boarding school in Toowoomba, a jillaroo on grazing property in SW Queensland, a Bar Attendant, in a bank and also in a Workers Union. My experiences in the workplace have enabled me to be an excellent judge of different characters over the years and I use those assessment skills in my writing.
I have gone on to complete a TAE Cert IV and also a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing. I will continue further studies in line with my life philosophy which is a day without learning something new or reviewing previous learning is a day wasted in the journey of life.
