I have had a diverse background in Education, not only as a student but also as an educator.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from Jackson State University located in Jackson, Mississippi. I worked as a News Reporter in radio during the early years of my career. I received a Master’s Degree in Adult and Technical Education for the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. A second Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Pre-K- 3) from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona.
I have spent over 25 years working in higher education and served as an adjunct faculty member for Southwest Tennessee Community College and Nashville State Technical Community College. I have held positions as Student Affairs Manager and Tech Prep Director serving adult students. In addition to my educational experience, I have also worked as a long term Substitute Teacher and Paraprofessional Educator working with exceptional learners. I plan to start continue my work of helping students to achieve success early. I enjoy having recess everyday!
