The challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic are many. Although distance learning has quickly become the default solution for the more than 54 million students displaced by school closures, it is estimated that 25-50 percent of the 5 million English language learners around the country either do not have the appropriate technology devices needed for online learning or access to the internet. Join us to learn more about some best practices we are seeing thus far for both groups of ELLs—those with Internet access and those without.

I enjoyed the webinar and really like several suggestions and common sense approaches of calling to see if everything is OK...the translation APs....suggestions for simple lesson and the reasons ESOL students may not be responding. I would recommend this webinar to others and also liked the parent section and how to help parents organize.

What a great experience! The webinar on Distance Learning for ELL was Applicable, Convenient, Engaging, and Short. The layout was perfect; each presenter was brief and provided useful nuggets of information that were relevant to the current situation and can easily be implemented tomorrow! Thank you AFT!

Easy navigation, organized, Clear, Concise, flowed smoothly. I did not get to get my PD Certificate before it closed. How can I get this. Will share with others about your PD webinars. The PD on Distance Learning and ELLs: What Have We Learned So Far? was fantastic. There was so much information in such a short period of time. It was worth the reminder for seasoned professionals and very helpful to those needing ideas to engage ELLs in their classrooms.

I liked this experience. I was in a community of people that I can relate to; we are all here to help our students. We are all trying our best to teach them and help them in the time of crisis. And it felt nice to know that ELLS teachers are thinking and feeling a lot the same that I am not alone. Thank you for this interaction.

This is the first webcast I have done on this site. I really enjoyed the convenience of logging onto the webcast from my email. Regarding the content, I thought that the three presenters were knowledgeable, thorough yet concise, and engaging to learn from.
