According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, during the COVID-19 pandemic, elementary school students are spending 7.5 hours a day in front of a screen, where they learn from and mimic the behavior of cartoon characters. When students finally transition back to school after being in front of a screen all day, the WonderGrove SEL animated lessons can act as a bridge between the home and the classroom.

With Wonder Media’s new blended learning plan, teachers can rely on the WonderGrove Social Skills animations as an effective way to modify behavior and teach social emotional learning in school and at home. Teachers or parents can access videos and extension lessons from home or the classroom, so the process is adaptable to any teaching or learning style.

More than 200 videos in the WonderGrove Social Skills library address social emotional learning topics, social skills, classroom readiness, health and science, safety skills, Dolch vocabulary words, and more. Each video comes with extension lessons in fluency, active learning, math, art and language arts.

The presentation will show how WonderGrove can be used as a blended learning tool for teachers, at home to prevent summer slide, and how to foster social emotional learning from a distance.

I really liked the research that drove this product, however the lack of racial and cultural diversity is SO disappointing. All the animated characters were light skinned and the photographs of real people (at least those used in this webinar) excluded black and brown skinned children/families. I would have purchased a trial year for my classroom for the $98 if it was more inclusive. Unfortunately, that is not the case :(

Lack of diversity. Especially amongst their live characters. A lot of the families in my district are not going to be able to afford this resource.

disappointing because they are trying to sell a program they don't even give the price for!
