About This Webinar

Join Diane Staehr Fenner from SupportEd; teacher and author, Larry Ferlazzo, and Lydia Breiseth with Colorín Colorado for a webinar on the challenges of distance learning during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic are many. Although distance learning has quickly become the default solution for the more than 54 million students displaced by school closures, it is estimated that 25-50 percent of the 5 million English language learners around the country either do not have the appropriate technology devices needed for online learning or access to the internet. Join us to learn more about some best practices we are seeing thus far for both groups of ELLs—those with Internet access and those without.

 #1 COVID-19 Special Populations Webinar

I enjoyed the webinar and really like several suggestions and common sense approaches of calling to see if everything is OK...the translation APs....suggestions for simple lesson and the reasons ESOL students may not be responding. I would recommend this webinar to others and also liked the parent section and how to help parents organize.
