About This Webinar

Explore how play and recreation can power summer learning and help students return to school more confident, connected and ready to learn. This session explores how major sports moments from the World Games to the NBA Finals can ignite student engagement and open the door to rich academic learning, from STEAM and math to teamwork and life‑skills development.

We’ll also spotlight three student‑centered learning opportunities that bring these themes to life: Beyond the Goal: A Virtual Field Trip to Soccer City USA, Total Health: A Virtual Field Trip with the NBA and WNBA, and Amazing Me, which supports body confidence and positive identity.

Perfect for educators and club leaders looking to bring movement, culture and whole‑child learning into the classroom.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how sports strengthen focus, life skills, and STEAM learning by connecting movement to cognitive and academic growth.
  • Use major sports moments — including the World Games and NBA Finals — to spark student engagement and anchor meaningful learning experiences.
  • Implement readytorun activities for classroom instruction, summer clubs and OST programs that extend learning through play, teamwork, and problem‑solving.
  • Apply sportsbased strategies to support back‑to‑school readiness by building confidence, connection, and academic momentum.
