About This Webinar

Join AFT President Randi Weingarten for a discussion of the challenges we face with the upcoming school year.

Teaching this year will, in many ways, be different than ever before; to meet the upcoming challenges, each of us must lean on and support one another. As part of AFT’s commitment to sharing evidence-based strategies to meet the needs of your students, we are sponsoring a free online event that will feature practical ideas and strategies for teachers and school staff to use in a remote environment, as well as ways in which we can ensure facilities are safe for in-person learning.

Panel 1: Teaching and Reaching the Whole Child

Our nation is facing three intersecting crises, and our children are not immune to those pressures. This panel will focus on strategies to support the whole child, with an emphasis on equity, developing relationships and incorporating social emotional learning into the digital classroom.

Panel 2: Health and Safety in School Buildings

School buildings can only be open for in-person instruction when it is safe. This panel will feature ways in which practitioners can advocate for safer facilities—and things they can do themselves.

Panel 3: Engaging Practices for Teaching and Learning

Most students will spend at least some time this year learning remotely. This panel will focus on strategies to engage in meaningful and deep teaching and learning practices while physically distant.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.

Loved the speakers and was very informative. The technical difficulties were distracting and frustrating.
