Prioritize Your Own Well-Being: Health and Wellness Sessions from Share My Lesson
Try these free, on-demand health and wellness sessions from our community to help you destress and prioritize your own self-care.
I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that we are in the last month of 2021.
To say that this past year or, rather, the past two years of pandemic life have been far more difficult than I expected would be an understatement. 2021 was going to be the year when we could get back to “normal” and collectively breathe a sigh of relief as we began to heal from the trauma of 2020. And while 2021 did bring us the COVID-19 vaccines and our hard-won lessons learned from 2020—hybrid/distance learning and teaching, wearing masks and physical distancing—it doesn’t mean that 2021 still wasn’t tough. It has been draining—emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Educators and school staff especially had it rough, not only looking after the well-being of themselves and their families, but also the well-being of the children and young people entrusted to their care in school.
The Share My Lesson team recognizes that sometimes we all focus so much on looking after the well-being of others that our own well-being falls to the wayside. That’s why we made it easier for you to turn your attention to practicing self-care by offering a series of health and wellness sessions over the past two years. All of these sessions are currently available for free, on demand and can be found in the health and wellness community, along with other related articles, activities and lessons. We are also excited to announce that SML is kicking off a new series in January 2022; you can join the community to learn more.
