Fighting for Safe Schools in America
The past couple of years have marked a turning point for school safety and gun violence in the country – the majority of American citizens are speaking up about the need to end the epidemic of gun violence. In November 2018, gun violence prevention rose to be a top issue among voters. The tragedies in places like El Paso, Pittsburgh and Parkland, Florida also have marked a turning point for young people, many of whom see the issue of gun violence as a key issue for their generation. In addition to providing resources on trauma-informed practices, this Share My Lesson collection explores the scope of the problem, potential solutions, and youth activism on the issue of gun violence in the United States.
