The National Academy for AI Instruction brings free AI training to educators across the country. Created by the American Federation of Teachers with the United Federation of Teachers and partners Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic, the Academy helps teachers, paraprofessionals, higher education faculty, and school staff learn to use artificial intelligence wisely, safely, and ethically. This Share My Lesson community is where AFT members find the webinars, tools, and professional learning that put those ideas to work in real classrooms.
AI is already changing how schools operate, and educators deserve a real say in how it's used. That's the whole point of the Academy: put teachers in the driver's seat instead of handing them a corporate mandate. Backed by a $23 million commitment, the initiative offers free AI training and curriculum to all 1.8 million AFT members, starting with K–12 educators, and aims to reach 400,000 teachers over its first five years.
