About This Lesson

Students will understand that animals use their senses to survive in their environments. Students will participate in a hands-on activity to model how a Gulf of Mexico eel can use its sense of smell to locate food and recognize its surroundings. Students will explore how changes in ocean conditions can affect marine animals and the senses they depend on for survival.
