About This Lesson
Use this lesson when teaching animal needs, predator-prey relationships, life cycles, habitats, or animals of the Texas coast
and Gulf.
Students will create an edible model of a Kemp's ridley sea turtle and its coastal habitat while learning that sea turtles can
be prey for other animals. Students will compare predators of eggs, hatchlings, young turtles, and adults.
This lesson pairs especially well with Sea Turtle Snacks. Sea Turtle Snacks explores what Kemp's ridleys eat, while this
lesson explores what may eat Kemp's ridleys.
