About This Lesson
Students will use the Virtual Urchin: Our Acidifying Ocean interactive laboratory to investigate how different seawater pH
conditions can affect sea urchin larval growth. The virtual laboratory allows students to conduct an investigation that would be difficult to reproduce in a typical middle-school classroom because it requires living sea urchin larvae, controlled seawater chemistry, laboratory equipment, microscopy, and sufficient time for larval development.
