About This Lesson
This lesson plan is to engage young students and assist them in understanding the events that led to the end of the Civil War as well as the feelings of the soldiers towards the end of the war. The students will also learn about the election of 1864. This lesson plan is aligned to Common Core and National Council for the Social Studies standards and has been endorsed by the History Channel.
