About This Lesson
Within this two-week unit of learning, students will analyze the elements of an informative essay, and then begin the process of writing their own personal narrative. The scope of this Informative unit of learning is 4 weeks. This 2-week lesson plan takes place in the beginning of the unit. The lessons presented contain several opportunities for the students to engage in project-based learning; individually and within their cooperative learning groups. Direct Instruction is another instructional strategy used frequently within this unit plan to help introduce students to the components that comprise informational text.
