About This Lesson

Students will read: "Speech in the VA Convention", "The Declaration of Independence", "What is an American?" and Hamilton's Letter to the Federalist about Jefferson and Burr and view the two paintings of Washington Crossing the Delaware. The PPT has teacher notes in the "Notes" section of each slide with links to songs from "Hamilton: The Musical", that exemplify the concepts of each slide. Songs used: "Alexander Hamilton", "You'll Be Back" and "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story". Essential Question: How do the works exemplify the Age of Reason? Google Classroom ready PPT.
