About This Lesson
In this activity, students will read an article to learn more about United States criminal justice policy and then create a timeline to demonstrate their understanding of U.S. criminal justice policy from the early 1960s to the 1990s.
Students will click the link to access the reading, "America's War on Drugs — 50 Years Later" by Ignacio Diaz Pascual. Key vocabulary terms are provided on page 1 to aid student comprehension. After completing the reading, students will complete the timeline activity on page 2. A comprehensive answer key with sample answers and supporting evidence from the text is provided on pages 3-5 for your convenience.
