Lesson 5 is a review lesson focusing on computation and calculations in addition to real-world applications. This is an opportunity for students to practice what they have learned over the past 4 days and to prepare for the first unit quiz. Lesson Objective: Students will be able to select the correct dimensions (area, base(s) and height) and calculate the area of diagrams and real-world area problems. Aligned with Common Core State Standard: 6.G.1

Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Great connections to area of several shapes. Teaching 6th graders what "studying" is was wise!
